Creating New User Accounts in Windows

Creating user accounts is a very common task that needs to be done by the administrator of a virtual server. Luckily, it's very simple!

Create User Account in Windows Server

Log on to Administrator account on the virtual server. Open the "Server Manager" window. The "Server Manager" button is typically on your task bar, but can also be accessed by clicking on the start menu and using the search to look for it.

The next step is to navigate to the "Users" page under "Local Users and Groups" in the "Configuration" tree. You can see this highlighted in the image above. Once you are here, right click anywhere in an empty part of the pane and click "New User..." (This is shown below)

Fill out the appropriate information and click "Create". That's it! You made a new user and they can now sign in.

The User name is the name the User will use to sign into their account. Select "User must change password at next logon" if you'd like them to have the opportunity to create their own password. You may note we left the Description field blank, this is because it is unneeded.
